OMEGA LEADER
“Every man is said to have his peculiar ambition. Whether it be true or not, I can say for one that I have no other so great as that of being truly esteemed of my fellow men, by rendering myself worthy of their esteem.”
- Abraham Lincoln

- Author Simon Sinek at Leaders eat Last
From Alpha to Omega
The letter Omega (Ω, ω) is the last in the ancient Greek alphabet. Compared to the Alpha leader, the Omega Leader resides in the polar opposite of the spectrum. While Alpha is driven by their ego, the Omega leader put others and their shared cause ahead of themselves. This is done through profound self-awareness. The Omega Leader’s priority is to serve.
Omega leader is aware of the difference between ambition and aspiration. Ambition is more related to achieving a powerful rank or fame ( typical Alpha leader drivers ) while aspiration is more related to serving a higher cause. This reflects the major divide between Alpha and Omega leaders when setting and reaching goals.
While the Alpha is focused on achievement, winning and personal rewards (e.g. revenue target), the Omega leader is inspiring the team towards a long-term meaningful vision.
Omega Leader cultivates a systemic approach to people, money, ideas, and energy. As leaders, they are masters of focus and see tasks through to their completion without being distracted. Everything they do is rooted in meaningful values.
Clear direction to sustainable Success
A powerful vision drives omega leaders. Their success is a combination of their professional skill set, passion for leadership, and constant curiosity towards the world. In addition, they harness wisdom and knowledge derived from the field, data and research. Omega leaders lead with openness through clarity of goals, they are focused, and their timing is right.
Scaling Impact
Omega leaders are extremely well informed about the markets and the global business opportunities linked to behavioural changes, innovation or fixing the global challenges. As forerunners, they find and solve problems with a focus on scalable long term financial gain. The difference is that they put their effort into causes impacting the people and the planet.
There are not many individuals who have gone through the experience of rapid scaling and understand how to operate a business going through the 10x path multiplying 10 to 100 employees and growing $10m to $100m in revenues. Those who have are often driven by impact instead of counting headcount or profits. For Omega Leaders, working for a cause bigger than oneself, such as bettering the lives of 100 million people, is a way more powerful vision than the side effect of unlocking a unicorn status for the business.

“ I believe that the honor of leadership should not be given to people who crave authority or seek attention. What if we reserved power for individuals who are daunted by the weight of the role but guided by a sense of responsibility to serve?”
- Adam Grant
